Renting to own is a great option for students. 100% of the rental cost goes towards the purchase of that of another instrument! What’s included?
Instruments come with a case, bow, rosin, pencil, and cleaning cloth.
Violinists and violists will need to purchase a shoulder rest, and cellists and bassists will need a rock stop, which holds the instrument in place while playing. These items come in lots of varieties that players and teachers may have preferences about, so they are not included in the rental.
You also may be interested in other accessories to get started, like a music stand, tuner, or metronome, all available for purchase!
How does it work?
Contact me to see if I have an instrument available! I am glad to order one if I don’t have what you’re looking for in stock.
A deposit (three months of rental payments) are due up front, and then payments are automatically billed to your credit card on file each month (or annually).
100% of the rental payments can be applied to the purchase of the instrument- you’ll own it after three years or less, depending on instrument cost. You can also apply the rental payments towards a different instrument- this is great for sizing up as your child grows, or getting a more advanced instrument. Unlike many rental programs, I even allow for getting a different instrument entirely- great for kids who decide to switch instruments along the way! You can switch instruments at any time during the course of the rental, beginning a new contract with adjusted payments, as needed.
You can always end your contract at any time and return the instrument early! Your deposit will be returned to you and prorated excess payments, minus the cost of any major repairs.
What does the maintenance fee cover?
The instruments remain the property of Alma Strings, LLC until they are paid off, so the maintenance plan is required. It is in everyone’s interests that it stays in good condition so you can keep playing! This maintenance fee covers string changes, bow rehairs, and even accidental damage! It will not cover charges for damage by negligence or vandalism.
